Nvidia for Atom

Kami sudah cukup sering melakukan review berbagai netbook dengan Intel Atom didalamnya. Kemampuannya sebenarnya standar, netbook dapat menangani basic multi-tasking seperti web browsing, word processing, dan menjalankan aplikasi multimedia ringan. Semisal menonton streaminng video atau menjelajahi dunia maya. Tapi tetap saja para penggunanya mengalami keterbatasan dengan netbooknya, terlebih lagi soal performa grafis yang dihadirkan. Dan Nvidia tidak mau tingal diam melihat hal tersebut.

Baru-baru ini pabrikan GPU tersebut meluncurkan produk terbaru mereka, GeForce 9400 + Intel Atom platform (yang mereka sebut Ion) yang akan membawa netbook anda mampu mengedepankan performa grafisnya. Produk ini akan menggantikan chipset Intel GMA 945 (seperti pada ASUS N10J, hanya saja pada N10J dapat diganti dengan Intel atau Nvidia 9300M, sementara untuk produk baru Nvidia ini hanya bisa menggunakan Nvidia saja). Nvidia memang bukan berencana untuk menjadikan netbook anda menjadi seperti gaming laptop, namun paling tidak Nvidia berusaha melakukan terobosan agar para pengguna Nvidia dapat menikmati kemampuan grafis melalui platform yang lebih kecil, dalam hal ini adalah netbook. Dan apakah teknologi ini yang akan dipakai oleh netbook-netbook di masa mendatang?

Menurut penjelasan dari Nvidia, Ion mampu meningkatkan performa grafis dan video transcoding dari Intel Atom hingga 10 kali lipat. Apakah anda bermasalah dengan sistem operasi yang terlalu berat untuk netbook anda? Produk terbaru Nvidia ini menawarkan performa untukmenjalankan sistem operasi terbaru sekali pun seperti Vista atau Windows 7. Sistem berbasis Ion ini juga mampu menangani content HD dan mengolah outputnya melalui HDMI.

Sejurus dengan dirilisnya Ion platform tersebut, Nvidia juga memperkenalkan Pico-ITX dan motherboard untuk nettop yang mengkombinasikan GeForce 9400M dengan Intel Atom didalamnya. Nvidia terlihat belum mengajak partner vendor netbook manapun sampai saat ini untuk mengusung produk terbaru mereka ini, yang jelas Nvidia akan mulai memasarkan Ion di tengah tahun pertama 2009. penasaran? Nantikan saja demo dari Nvidia bulan depan.

Laptop paling populer Oktober 2008

Setiap bulan kami akan menampilkan urutan laptop yang paling sering diakses pada website notebookreview.com, salah satu website review laptop yang paling popular. Data ini dapat untuk mengambil kesimpulan bahwa laptop dengan urutan teratas adalah laptop-laptop yang paling dicari dan dipertimbangkan untuk sebagian besar pembeli laptop.

Untuk itu daftar ini bukan merupakan daftar laptop paling popular berdasar tingkat penjualan, namun berdasar pada jumlah akses pada tiap halaman review laptop tersebut.
Sehingga dengan kata lain ini merupakan daftar “the most clickable laptops of the month”. Laptop-laptop yang paling menarik perhatian dan menjaring antusias. Dan data dibawah ini diambil dari jumlah pengakses tiap bulannya. Dan akan kami sajikan setiap bulannya.

OKtober ini chart tidak berubah banyak dari daftar chart bulan September. Namun ada perubahan positif yang ditunjukkan oleh varian Apple terbaru dengan Macbook-nya yang dapat menembus 10 besar bulan ini. Beberapa netbook juga masih bertengger di chart ini, sebut saja Acer dengan Aspire One-nya dan Asus dengan Eee PC-nya. Untuk lebih lengkapnya, berikut daftar laptop paling populer bulan ini
